Background and Quaker Famine Relief in Letterfrack
By Joan Johnson
This book tells, for the first time, the story of why James and Mary Ellis moved from Bradford in the North of England, to Letterfrack in the West of Ireland, during the Great Famine.
It describes their background and motivation, James’s early business ventures, and his two marriages, which added to the interlinking of a number of well known Quaker families.
