Community Employment

Connemara West Community Employment participants work in a number of very valuable projects in the community, from Connemara Community Radio, Diamond Hill Community Centre and GYM, Connemara Rugby Club and The Ivy Market. They also work on village renewal projects in Tully, Tullycross and Letterfrack and carry out maintenance work on the local cemeteries and the community pitch in Letterfrack. As well as regular maintenance work, the CE participants work on special projects that are of great importance to the local community, from assisting with the preparation for tidy towns and with events in the villages. The most recent collaboration with Letterfrack Tidy Towns is a new path linking Letterfrack to the sea. The CE participants offer invaluable assistance to Sea Week held in October in Letterfrack, and countless other community events during the year.
