Conservation Letterfrack workshop will be open Sunday 25th August 2024 from 10am-5pm as part of National Heritage Week.
The workshop is based in the Connemara West Centre, Letterfrack H91 T288 and there is plenty of parking and the workshop is fully accessible.
This is an ideal opportunity to get a flavour of the work carried out by specialist conservators and restorers on furniture and wooden objects. Conservation|Letterfrack have a range of clients from The National Museum of Ireland, Muckross House and many private clients and Historic Houses. This day will give visitors a unique insight into how our heritage is treated to conserve it for future generations. The visitor will experience first hand some of the traditional woodworking techniques and modern approaches in object conservation to help to understand the complexity of the work and research carried out by the workshop. Visitors can also use the opportunity to talk to a furniture specialist and get advice on the care of your treasured antiques.
The ATU Connemara end of year exhibition ‘ICONS’ will also be open as well a special exhibition on Cillini – children’s burial grounds.
