Connemara West Community Projects CLG is currently recruiting for a Community Employment Supervisor to lead and supervise a community employment scheme based in Letterfrack and surrounding areas.  The supervisor will work closely with the Project Management Committee that oversees the scheme.   The joint aim of CE and Connemara West Community Projects CLG is to enhance the employability and mobility of disadvantaged and unemployed persons by providing work experience and training opportunities for them within their communities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective and  efficient direction and co-ordination of the human, financial and material resources under their control and thereby achieve the aims and purpose of the scheme.

The main duties of the role will be:

To plan and manage work programmes and oversee a team of participants spread over a range of community activities

To supervise the day to day running of the scheme

To act as a point of support for participants

To assist in the development and implementation of Individual Learner Plans for participants

To maintain the accounting/administration requirements of the scheme

To maximise the opportunities for participants for training, development and long-term employment

The ideal candidate should also have experience in the following:

  • Knowledge of community employment supervisor role
  • Training and development of staff
  • Knowledge of the ILP system
  • Maintaining of all staff records including contracts & timesheets
  • Preparing reports for management
  • Good I.T. skills
  • An ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A full driving licence and own transport

This position is a full-time 39 hours per week Monday to Friday.  The salary will be in accordance with the grant funding set for the position by DSP and the successful candidate will commence at point 1 of the set CE supervisory wage grant funding scale unless currently working as a CE supervisor. Supervisor grant funding scale is available on www.welfare.ie.

Candidates will be required to provide a minimum of two employment references and permission for the content of the references to be confirmed verbally by telephone to previous employers. Major 3rd level qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher) is required.  Garda Vetting will apply. This CE scheme is funded by the DSP which is funded by the Irish Government.
