At an Extraordinary General meeting of Connemara West on the 8 April 1976 it was formally decided to proceed with the building of the Teach Ceoil. Connemara West Community Projects CLG is currently recruiting for a Community Employment Supervisor to lead and supervise a community employment scheme based in Letterfrack and surrounding areas. At its monthly Board meeting held on July 22nd, Connemara West wished Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) every success in its recent application as part of the Connacht Ulster Alliance (CUA) to establish a technological university in Connacht/Ulster. Connemara West has opened a pop-up remote working hub in Tullycross village. The Hub is located at Renvyle Thatched Cottages making it possibly one of the most unusual and picturesque digital spaces in the West of Ireland. Connemara West are launching a graveyard mapping project to record the memorials and heritage of the local graveyards and burial grounds in the Parish of Ballinakill. This is an ambitious plan to record and digitally map the six graveyards and their memorial inscriptions.
