Sea to sculpture exhibition

The sculpture workshop led by Lelia Ni Chathmhaoil and Aoife Casby took place in the Teach Ceoil yesterday Sunday 15 Oct.  During the workshop participants made amazing sculptures using materials that had been found along the seashore from pieces of rope, driftwood, plastic waste, sea glass.   It  was such a beautiful afternoon of creativity and good will. Sea to Sculpture - a special Connemara West project with Twisted Lane Productions. Digital graveyard mapping launch

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Connemara West undertook a graveyard mapping project of the seven local cemeteries and graveyards  in the Parish of Ballinakill - Salruck, Tooreena, Renvyle, Letterfrack Boys Cemetery, Banogues, St Thomas and Ballinakill.   The project was funded through Forum Connemara Leader programme and the work was carried out on the ground by local volunteers whose dedication to the project was limitless.   The  support and guidance from [...]

The Wallace family archive donation

Claudia Montgomery and her family travelled to Ireland in August 2023 to donate their  family archive to Connemara  West.   They are descendants from  the Wallace family in Tullycross and their mother brought to USA artefacts and items she felt might be interesting after the family house was sold.  The family were in  Ireland,  when Renvyle Thatched Cottages  were being built and they admired the ethos of Connemara West and felt [...]
